Child rights, deportation

Protecting children's rights, including deported or separated children.

What to do

  1. Register on the "Children of War" state portal

If a child has been taken away or deported, register the case at childrenofwar.gov.ua — this is the main state source for recording such cases.

  2. Notify the police

If a child has gone missing or been unlawfully taken, call 102 to start an official search.

  3. Gather documents about the child

Prepare the birth certificate, photos, information on the last known location, and the circumstances of separation.

  4. File an appeal with the Ombudsman

Describe the situation via the hotline or online cabinet — the Ombudsman raises the issue of returning children at the international level.

The Ombudsman protects the rights of the child, including children separated from their families, deported, or unlawfully transferred. The state portal "Children of War" collects information on affected children.
